In the 1920 and 1930 U.S. Censuses, Charles and Eva are residing in Norwich, Newaygo County, Michigan. Children listed in the 1920 census were Ellen, Evelyn, Charles Jr., and Henry. The 1930 census shows their children as Evelyn F., Charles H., Henry A., Ruth M. and Edwin E.

Ellen may have been married since she would have been ABT 18 years of age.

The 1940 Census records list two separate entries.

Eva, along with four of her children (Charles, Henry, Edwin, and Emma) were living with Louis [census index him as Lania] Fancher in Norwich, Newaygo County, Michigan. Their surname was listed as Spices. She was listed as housekeeper.

Charles is listed single and he is living as head of household in Whitefish, Chippewa County, Michigan. His occupation was a carpenter in the construction industry.
