    On September 28, 1904, at Hustonville, he married Miss Mary Allene
    Carpenter, daughter of T. L. and Abbie (Riffe) Carpenter, the latter now
    deceased. Her father for many years was a farmer in the Hustonville
    community and is now living retired at Newcastle, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs.
    Montgomery have two children: Morris Carpenter, born April 1, 1907, and
    Abbie Riffe, born May 18, 1911.
