Census record of 1930 indicates that the couple had two daughters, aged 10 and 18, both of whom were in school. The 1920 census indicates the daughters were aged 6 months and 8, respectively, the elder being in school.

Census record of 1930 also indicates that the couple were married when Charles was 24 and Winifred was 23, suggesting an approximate marriage date of 1911.

The 1940 census appears to have errors or relates to the wrong people; in particular, notes that Charles was born in Mississippi and Winifred in Michigan, completely different from prior census records. Also, the inferred years of birth are wrong, showing Charles and Winifred as 43 and 41 years old, respectively, indicating births in 1897 and 1899, both apparently incorrect.
