"Be it Remembered that on the twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five Carlton Goodale & Sharlotte Sanford of the County of Portage were legally joined in marriage by competent authority, in conformity to the provisions of the statutes of the State of Ohio, in such cases made and provided; and a certificate of such marriage, signed by James W. Moffit Justice of the Peace who solemnized the same has been filed in the office of the clerk of the Court of common pleas, for said County of Portage, this twenty ninth day of January Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirty five."
