The Twiford/Twyford, Brown, and White families all were associated with Francis Asbury's visits and to the Methodist movement when they went to Ohio about 1801. The probate of James Brown's will was probably a major factor in the timing of the migration.

  2.   The will of James Brown allows the incorrect inference that his daughter "Mary Twyford" is married to the witness Charles Twyford. Examination of probate records of Caroline County, MD show that to be impossible and show it probable the Brown Twiford was widow Mary Twyford's husband and the father of Clement, her heir. Mary's administrator is her sister Rebecca Brown who is also administrator of Brown Twyfords estate, which has been "swallowed up" in that of Mary Twyford.
