  3.   There are two Benjamin Prescotts in Hampton. This is Benjamin Sr., b. 1700. The other is Benjamin Jr., b. 1708, m. 1729 Dorothy (Robie) Sanborn. The birth of the son Benjamin of Benjamin (Sr.) in 1737 no longer uses any distinguishing label, so Benjamin Jr. must have moved away by then. Various books are pretty vague about the makeup and birth dates of the two families, so the baptism records found in Source:Brown, Warren. History of the Town of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire have been followed. There are two main issues:

First, Rebecca bp. 26 May 1734 and Sarah bp. 13 Oct 1734, both labeled as belonging to Benjamin, Sr. Some websites have been seen that give at least one of these to Benjamin Jr. but both baptism records are explicitly reported as saying Sr. It seems probable that Rebecca was born earlier, maybe 1732, and her baptism delayed. Both these daughters apparently died young as another Rebecca was baptized 1736 and another Sarah in 1740, which explains why they are not listed in the secondary sources for this family. However, not reporting them leaves an unlikely gap in births in the one source that attempts to provide dates, the Prescott Memorial, from 1730-1737 (for some reason, the second Rebecca is also left out of this family.)

Second: there appears to be no baptism record for the son John, though all sources seem to agree there was a son John. Based on the spacing of sibling births, his birth would appear to be about 1746, as is reported by Source:Prescott, William. Prescott Memorial, or, A Genealogical Memoir of the Prescott Families in America. Source:Stearns, Ezra S. Genealogical and Family History of the State of New Hampshire calls him the youngest son, which suggests the baptism for John in 30 Apr 1732 is not this John, but rather does belong to Benjamin Jr. as reported, since such a son could not be the youngest son. (Benjamin Jr.'s father was named John.)
