MURDOCK, Benjamin and Mary Hides [dup. Hyde], Dec. 9, 1725. [Hide, MR]
- ↑ Newton VRs, p. 482, show the death of Hannah Murdock, "ch. Ben" on 15 Aug 1734. There is no birth recorded for this child, nor any obvious spot for her birth to fit. The source for this death is indicated to be the William Hyde diary. According to VRs, Benjamin's brother John has a daughter Hannah b. 9 Jul 1734, and town records given her death as 14 Aug 1734 (duplicate 24 Aug 1734). A daughter Hannah is listed in Benjamin's family based on this death date, but shown with no birth date by Source:Murdock, Joseph B. Murdock Genealogy, Robert Murdock of Roxbury, Massachusetts and Some of His Descendants, p. 19. However, it is presumed here based on the lack of birth and town death record for a child of Benjamin's, that the Hyde diary was confusing the two brothers, and that these all refer to a child of John's, while Benjamin had no daughter Hannah.
