    p. 428: Benj. Fance of Kingston and Lydia Trowant of this town married Apr. 13, 1763 [Note: editor's comment cites Early Massachusetts Marriages (i.e., Vol. 2, p. 44), but claims they could not find this in the county records.]
    p. 148: Benjamin Fance of Kingston & Lydia Trowant of this town were married Apr. 13, 1764. [Note: cites p. 150 of Vol. 2, dates appear chronological, except this one, which would be if it said 1763.]

  3. The intentions in 1762 (usually good for a year), the context of the Marshfield marriage record on p. 148 suggesting 1764 is an error, and the birth of the son Benjamin 24 May 1764, all argue that 1763 is the correct date. The Kingston record may very well be a copy of the Marshfield record, sent to Kingston due to the Acts of 1851.
