Text: Andrew was probably the first of this name in Amaerica. With Andrew Zumwalt also came Jacob Linn, whose daughter, Maria Clarenz Linn married Balthaser Zumwalt January 1, 1753 in Christ's Luthern Church, New York Co, Pennsylvania. Balthaser, or Balzar, Zumwalt left many decendents, some of whom think that he was a son (brother more likely) of Andrew Zumwalt the Immigrant. Shortly after the Revolutionary War many of Balzar's family moved from York County, Pa to Baltimore Co, Md and spelled their name Sumwalt.
