[Note: this appears to be a bad example of VR mistranscription. Polly and Patty can be difficult to distinguish but it seems clear in both the following records from town records. Additionally the compiler mistook the date of return as the date of marriage, incorrectly. See the following:
p. 301: To Mr John Barnard Clerk of Gerry. I certify you that on the 28th of February 1796 I Joined in Marriage Mr Asa Piper with Mrs Polly Maynard both of Gerry. Given under my hand April the 25th 1796. Charles Baker Just. Peace.
