Miss Ruth Laug Bride of Arthur TerKeurst

About 150 relatives and friends witnessed the marriage of Miss Ruth Laug and Mr. Arthur TerKeurst Tuesday evening, the event taking place at the home of the bride's uncle, Mr. John Laug, because of the destruction by fire, a short time ago, of the George Laug home.
Rev. H.D. TerKeurst, brother of the groom, performed the ceremony, which was solemnized under a beautiful arch decorated with peonies and roses. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. George Laug. She carried a bouquet of bridal roses, and wore a beautiful bridal veil and dress of ivory satin. Her sister Miss Geneva Laug, was bridesmaid, and wore a net dress over pink and carried a bouquet of roses. The groom's cousin, Mr. Earl Kropschot, was best man. The bride's niece, Norma Jean Laug, was flower girl, and wore a dress of orange taffeta. The double ring ceremony was used. Miss Mary Easton played the wedding march, and Mr. and Mrs. John Laug were master and mistress of ceremony.
The bridal pair were the recipients of many beautiful and valuable gifts. A two course luncheon was served, and the guests departed at a late hour, wishing them happiness and good fortune. They will live in Evanston, Ill., where the groom is getting his Ph.D. degree at Northwestern University.
The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Laug, and was born and raised here. She is a graduate of the Coopersville high school, and has taught for a number of years. The groom is also quite well known here, and they have the best wishes of all for a long and happy married life.
