My mother Rachel Moore was born in Thorne Levels, and died at the age of, I believe it was 36 years old. I was the eldest of nine, Herbert Sprakes Samuel Sprakes, Ruth Sprakes, Kathleen Sprakes, Dorothy Sprakes, Madge Sprakes, Violet Sprakes, Ralph Sprakes. My mother died same house as Harry Sprakes lives in Ellison Street. We bought it from a man named Francis Faulding he was a Butcher. Before we came to Ellison Street we lived in Brewery Yard. Previous to that we lived in row at Waterside, a lady kept a shop by the name of Miss Steers Buxton. Had a large old warehouse opposite opposite where we lived, it was on the river side, he sold all kinds of pots, cups, plates etc.
