BIGBY, Archibald: 1 male between 15-20 (Archibald E.), 1 male between 20-30 (Benjamin), 1 male between 60-70 (Archibald), 1 female between 20-30 (?), 1 female between 60-70 (Susannah Mattison/Madison), has 16 or 17 slaves.
The 1840 Abbeville South Carolina Census:
BIGBY, Archibald. 1 male to age 5, 2 males between 5-10, 1 male between 20-30, 1 male between 70-80 (Archibald), 1 female between 70-80(Susannah Mattison). This appears to be old Archibald & his wife, Susannah, one of their sons and 3 small boys living with them...?

Heirs: Catherine Spruill, George, Thomas, John, Susannah Robinson, Margaret Spruill, Milly Ann, Archibald L. & Benjamin M. Bigbie: all to recieve equal shares.
Appointed: "my two sons George and Benjamin M. Bigbie my executors."
In presence of: Samuel Robinson, Edward Robinson, George Mattison.
True amount of sale bill is.........$10,445.87: (9) Legatees share=$867.21 each (after deductions of cost etc).
Misc: names a "lot of land in Georgia" not yet sold; last sentance in the will "there was also 7 acres of land sold to NIXON by Testator to be paid in (work) & for which exectors can get nothing."
