'Andrew Witit ... Married Janet Marshall, May 27, 1697, in Dron Parish. There is an entry in Dunbarney Parish records of their having also been proclaimed there in order to marriage on May 10, 1697, the explanation of which is that, as they had lived in different parishes, the law required that the banns of marriage should be proclaimed in both.'
