John and Amos have published birthdates within 1 day of each other. One possibility is that they are twins, and one of the days is in error, or they were born in the middle of the night. More likely, one of them was born 1748/9. It is quite probable that John was born 1748/9 and died 13 days later. More information is needed to determine which was born 1747/8 and the other 1748/9.
