[Note: this conflicts with the death record which says Amos died 7 months earlier in Feb 1797. The original town records show the intentions: "Intention of marriage by Mr Amos Parker of Jeffry and Miss Ruthy Ritch of Gerry Entered August 25th 1796". The return was recorded 4 months before it says the marriage happened:: "September 6th 1797. Then I joined in married Mr Amos Parker of Jaffry, with Mrs Ruth Rich of Gerry. Charles Baker Just. Peace. Returned 9 May 1797 and recorded by me John Barnard T. Clerk". Hence the marriage clearly occurred in 1796.]
