"The account given in New Haven Gen. Magazine, vol. 1, pp. 107-108, is correct, except that we erred in accepting 1716 as the date of death of Ailing, Sr., and in giving a second child Alling to Alling, Jr. It was not a second Alling, but a daughter Abigail (who must have died young) who was baptized with her sister Mercy on 30 July 1693.[2]
