Sarah Reed is a common name. She is assumed to be the d/o Roger based on

, p. 29. Presumably, Brown's conclusion is based on her age at death, 23 in 1820, which gives a birth in 1797. If there is more evidence for this match, it is not given. Note that

errs badly in identifying her as Sally, the widow of Reuben Reed. First, Reuben's wife Sally died before 1790, and second, she would have been at least a generation older than Alford Fitch. While Reuben's daughter may be a candidate, b. 1795 with no information available about her outcome, her birth is off by 2 years, while Roger's daughter is a better match.
