  2. Source:Allred, Marilyn. Town of Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Genealogical Records 1739-1900, Births, Marriages,, p. 26 says Abraham married "Mary Stevens, b. 28 Mar 1742, Petersham, Ma, dau of Phinehas & Elizabeth Stevens (Warwick record says Mary Stevens, b. 1 Apr 1742, Warwick, dau of Nathaniel & Mary Stevens)". The first is recorded in Rutland [i.e., not Petersham] 28 Mar 1742 to Phineas and Elizabeth (Stevens) Stevens. Phineas is mentioned p. 264 of Allred, but no children are listed. The second is recorded in Marlborough [i.e., not Warwick] 1 Apr 1742 to Nathaniel Stevens and Mary Martin. Nathaniel is mentioned p. 263 of Allred, with a daughter Mary, b. 1 Apr 1742, m. Abraham Barnes, contradicting what is said on p. 26. The names of the children of Abraham and Mary Barnes offer no obvious answer, but the names of their sons Samuel and Willard, match children of Phineas and Elizabeth recorded in Rutland, so the premise of p. 26 may be the correct one? On the other hand it appears that Phineas Stevens moved to Charlestown, NH, by 1752 (land grant that year, daughter bp. there 1753), and Source:Saunderson, Henry Hamilton. History of Charlestown, New Hampshire, the Old No. 4, p. 574, claims his daughter m. Elijah King? Further research is needed.

On 27 Sep 1800, Nathaniel Steven's son Abraham and wife Mary, sold land to Abraham Barnes Jr., but the deed indicates no relationship.
