This is to certify that I Thomas Perkins of Adair County and state of kentucky do permit my daughter Rebecca to be joined in matrimony with Abner Bernard of the same county and state afore so therfore give leave to any clerk to isue license for said Bernard as witness my name and seal.

Know all men by these presents that we Abner Bernard and Peter Bernard are held (& firmly?] bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of [pounds] 50 current money for the payment of which to be made good we bind ourselves our heirs & jointly and severally firmly by those present Sealed and dated this 23rd day of february 1814.

The condition of the above obligation is such that if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the intended marriage of Rebekah Perkins and Abner Bernard then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force....

These are to certify that on the seventh instant license being produced to me from the clerks office of wayne County authorizing the marriage of Abner Bernard and Rebecky Perkins I proceeded and joined together in the holy state of matrimony the said Bernard & Perkins given under my hand this 18th day of April 1814.
