'Kelebum, Lois, relict of Aaron, d Apr 7, 1838 age 78 yrs'

As pointed out by Donald Engstrom in his RootsWeb database (engstrom), 'The tombstone may be in a worn and weathered state and the the inscription may possibly be
Ketchum Lois, relict of Aaron ...'

Supporting this is information on the will of Lois Ketchum of Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut (dated Jun 16, 1836) and inventory of estate (presented in Bristol probate court Sep 5 1838).

  2. RootsWeb submission from Donald Engstrom, online (worldconnect.rootsweb.com, database engstrom), last updated.

'THE WILL OF LOIS KETCHUM of Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, dated June 1 6, 1836, was filed with the probate court for the district of Bristol and recorded on page 406 of the probate records. The will mentions nephews Erastus Cole and Albert Northrup, nieces Ithalia Welch and Harriet Atkins. Nephew, Homer Bishop was appointed executor by the testor, Lois Ketchum.'

The names in the will identify her as Lois Bishop, daughter of David and Sarah (Austin) Bishop.

  3. Lois was Aaron's second wife. The name of his first wife (mother of his children) is unknown.
