Reprint of the 1916 ed., which was issued as v. 9 of the Collections of the New Jersey Historical Society, and reissued in 1973 by Genealogical Publishing Com, reprinted 2005.

GPC's description of the book, reads:

Here are 224 biographies of colonial New Jerseymen, many of which contain extensive genealogies. Revised and expanded from the New Jersey Archives by archivist William Nelson, this work refers to an additional 1,000 colonists whose genealogical connections would otherwise be lost in unexamined New Jersey source records.

A list of sources is included at the bottom of each article, but sources of specific information are not cited. This work draws extensively from New Jersey records, and records in other locations (e.g., Rhode Island) seem to be used.
