Includes: The Beer family of Trub, Canton Bern, from 1570 up to the marriage of Katharine Beer in 1840; the Hunig family of Ursenbach, Canton Bern, from 1766 to the emigration of Johannes and Katharine Beer Hunig from Switzerland to America in 1854; the family of Katharine Beer and Johannes Hunig in Ohio until the death of Johannes in 1890; the family of Elizabeth Hinig and Frederick Affolter in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, tracing some lines from 1855 to the present; the family of Anna Eliza Kaderly, married to John Hinig in 1869 in Tuscarawas County, tracing some lines to the present; the descendants of Emma L. Brendel and Jacob Hinig of Zanesville, Ohio, tracing the complete line to the present; and the family of Mary Hinig and James Walton Garthwaite, married in 1873 and residents of both Ohio and Wisconsin.
