[edit] Usage TipsThe society was formed in February 1977. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength with regular monthly meetings taking place in Beverley, Hull and Bridlington as well as our branch in Scarborough. These meetings may include a speaker on some family or local history topic or could take the form of a workshop, walkabout or social event. The society has its own research facilities housed within the historic Carnegie Heritage Centre in Hull (342 Anlaby Road, Kingston upon Hull HU3 6JA). They also operate regular Helpdesks at libraries throughout our area. They have a wide range of publications in both booklet and electronic format. Our numerous projects mean we are constantly adding to our list of publications. Most English family history societyies sell their publications through a central organization called Genfair which has facilities for purchases in non-English currencies. |
