Wimbotsham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated close to the River Great Ouse, 2 km (1.2 mi) north of the town of Downham Market, 18 km (11 mi) south of the town of King's Lynn, and 60 km (37 mi) west of the city of Norwich. It covers an area of 6.04 km2 (2.33 sq mi) and had a population of 558 in 262 households at the 2001 UK census, the population increasing to 664 at the 2011 UK census when the small neighbouring parish of Bexwell was added on. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Wimbotsham from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"WIMBOTSHAM, a parish, with a village, in Downham [registration] district, Norfolk; 1½ mile NE of Downham [railway] station. It has a post-office under Downham. Acres: 2,015. Real property: £3,995. Population in 1851: 606; in 1861: 508. Houses: 112. The property is subdivided. The manor belongs to Sir T. Hare, Bart. The living is a rectory, annexed to Stow-Bardolph. The church was restored in 1854. There are two Methodist chapels."

The files are separated by type and broken down into time periods (i.e., "Baptism, Marriages, and Burials, 1535-1812" is more than one file). The general explanatory notes are worth reading for those unfamiliar with English parish records.
