Nigg was a parish in the traditional Scottish county of Kincardineshire. It contained the villages of Burnbank, Torry, Cove Bay and Charlston, all of which have been redirected here. Nigg was absorbed into the City of Aberdeen unitary council authority in 1996.

Nigg is located directly across the mouth of the River Dee from the centre of Aberdeen and has long been linked to the city by a bridge and a ferry.
