A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Thorpe Bochart from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "THORPE-BOCHART, or [Thorpe]-in-the-Glebe, a parish in the [registration] district of Loughborough and county of Nottingham; 6 miles ENE of Loughborough [railway] station. Post town: Nottingham. Acres: 930. Population: 36. Houses: 6. There is no church."

Thorpe in the Glebe was a village in Nottinghamshire to the south of Wysall on the Leicestershire border. It was sometimes called Thorpe in the Clottes.
