Nassaborough Hundred (or Liberty) includes the City of Peterborough and its surrounding area. It became the Soke of Peterborough and was a separate administrative county under that name from 1889 until 1965. It then merged with the county of Huntingdonshire (to its south) and in 1974 became a unitary authority named the Peterborough District within the county of Cambridgeshire.
