Muhlenberg County, Kentucky

Muhlenberg county was formed in 1799. It is located in the Western Coal Field region of the state. The elevation in the county ranges from 355 to 760 feet above sea level. In 2000 the county population was 31,839 in a land area of 474.7 square miles, an average of 67.1 people per square mile.[1] --Dlbradley1 17:21, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

County Seat

Greenville, the seat of Muhlenberg county, is located near the center of the county on US 62. It was founded in 1799 on land donated by William Campbell when the county was formed and named for General Nathanael Greene. The site is southeast of Caney Station, an earlier settlement.
