Hopton on Sea is a village, civil parish and seaside resort on the coast of East Anglia and now in the county of Norfolk. It is located some 8 km south of the town of Great Yarmouth and very close to the UK's most easterly point, Lowestoft Ness. It is also referred to as Hopton (near Lowestoft).

The civil parish was, until 1974, in the administrative county of East Suffolk and the historic county of Suffolk. It has an area of 5.63 km² and in the 2011 census had a population of 2,970 in 1,325 households. For the purposes of local government, the parish now falls within the district of Great Yarmouth District.

A nineteenth century description

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Hopton on Sea from John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles of 1887:

"Hopton, coast par. and vil., E. Suffolk, 4½ miles NW. of Lowestoft, 1267 ac., pop. 320; P.O."
