In addition to Hampole, the parish contains the hamlets of Skelbrooke and Hamphall Stubbs. Both were civil parishes from 1866 until 1938 and located in Hemsworth Rural District after 1894. When abolished the two small civil parishes were absorbed into Hampole.
Hampole lies about two miles northwest of the 20th century model village of Woodlands, from 1915 in located in Adwick le Street.
