Greetland is a village which, since 1974, has been in the metropolitan borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. It is located 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Elland and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of Halifax.

Greetland was an urban district from 1894 until 1937 when it was absorbed into the neighbouring urban district of Elland. In 1974 the whole area was transferred into Calderdale (metropolitan borough) in West Yorkshire. Greetland was originally in the ancient and ecclesiastical parish of Halifax.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Greetland from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"GREETLAND, a village and a chapelry in Halifax parish, [West Riding of] Yorkshire. The village stands 1 mile W of Elland [railway] station, and 3 SSW of Halifax; and has a post office under Halifax. The chapelry is part of the township of Elland-cum-Greetland. Population: 2,584. There are stone quarries, and several large woollen, worsted, and cotton mills. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ripon. Value, not reported. Patron: the Vicar of Halifax. The church was built in 1860; consists of nave, chancel, transept, aisle, and porch; and is in a mixed Gothic style. There are chapels for Wesleyans, Primitive Methodists, Free Methodists, and Bible Christians."
