Gaines Charter Township is a charter township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 25,146 at the 2010 census. The township is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about south of the city of Grand Rapids.

In the traditional township numbering for the State of Michigan, Gaines Township is T 5 N, R 11 W.

Michigan has another township of the same name in Genesee County.
