WILLIAM TUHNER was born in Newtown, Conn., March 7,
1803, and died in Cleveland, 0., Jan. 26,1866.
Soon after graduating he commenced the study of law in
Ohio, and was admitted to the bar. He practiced his profession
for about fifteen years in Ravenna, and thence removed to
Cleveland, where, relinquishing his profession, he was engaged,
for several years, in the coal business, having charge of a mine
near Clinton, in the same State.
During several years of the latter part of his life he was
much interested in horticulture, and in the cause of temperance,
writing for periodicals and delivering public addresses upon
these subjects.
He was never married.
