A trancription of his PCC will: This is the last Will and Testament of me William Judge of Northend in the parish of Burton Dasstt in the County of Warwick Graziar that is to say First I will and direct that my wife Elizabeth shall live and inhabit with my son John and Daughter Jemima as usual or if she chooses to leave them and reside elsewhere then I order and direct that my Executors hereinafter named to pay her twenty five pounds a year for her life by two equal half yearly payments the first payment to be made at the first Lady Day or Michaelmas next after she shall leave my son and Daughter also I give unto my Daughter Mary Judge five pounds a year for her life to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named also I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Leason the sum of one hundred pounds also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Batchelor the Interest of two hundred pounds until her Son and Daughter James and Ann Batchelor shall arrive to the age of twenty one years and when they shall arrive to the age of twenty one years then I give the said sum of two hundred pounds unto the said James and Ann Batchelor share and share alike and if the said James or Ann Batchelor shall depart this life before he or she arrive to the age of twenty one years then I give the part or share of him or her so dying unto the survivor of them also I give unto my Daughter Sarah Curtis one hundred pounds also I give unto my son William Judge three hundred pounds also I give and devise unto my said son William Judge his Heirs and assigns for ever all that my Malthouse and premises with their appurtenances situate and being in Northend aforesaid which I lately purchased also I give unto my Daughter Peggy one hundred pounds all the Rest and Residue of my personal Estate Monies Goods Chattels and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my Son John Judge and my Daughter Jemima Judge equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I nominate and appoint my said Son John Judge and my said Daughter Jemima Judge and also Richard Curtis of Farnboro in the County of Warwick Grocer and John Dury of Banbury in the County of Oxford Gentleman Executors and Trustees of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills and publishing and declaring this as and for my last will and Testament and I give unto the said Richard Curtis and John Dury five pounds apiece for their troubles in accepting the Executorship of this my Will and I do hereby order and direct that it should be lawful for my said Executors to deduct and reimburse himself and themselves all costs and charges he or they may be at in executing the Trusts of this my will and that and of my said Executors shall not be answerable for the act or debt of the other and shall not be accountable for more monies than he or they shall receive In Witness whereof I the said William Judge to this my last will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper to each sheet thereof have set my hand and seal this twenty second day of April in the year of our lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety six Wm Judge L.S. signed sealed published and declared by the above named William Judge as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunder subscribed our Names as Witnesses Joseph Harrod John Cox The Mark of X William Walker I William Judge of Burton Dassett make this a Codicil to my last will and Testament and bequeath as follows To Jemima Judge my Daughter the Sum of five Pounds To my son John Judge five pounds To my Daughter Peggy the wife of William Freeman Fifty pounds To my daughter Mary Judge five pounds To my Daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Cleeson of Wodden Chase the sum of one hundred pounds To my Daughter Sarah the wife of Richard Curtis of Farnborough one hundred pounds To my son William Judge the sum of three hundred pounds to my Daughter Ann Batchelor the sum of five pounds To my wife Elizabeth Judge the Sum of twenty pounds The Mark of X William Judge L.S. Signed published and declared in the presence of us who have hereunto set our Hands this twenty third Day of June 1797 Edwd Welchman, Thomas Ledbrook This Will was proved at London with a Codicil on the twenty second day of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety seven before the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of John Judge the son of the deceased and one of the Executors named in the said will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer power reserved of making the like Grant to Jemima Judge spinster the daughter Richard Curtis and John Dury the other Executors named in the said will when they or other of them shall apply for the same. |
