Ex-Grain Buyer Succumbs At 74
A former merchant and grain buyer at Gilroy, Fred Dark, 74, of 645 Hichelaga east died here Tuesday.
Born in Brussels, Ont., he moved to Manitoba in 1907. He moved to Gilroy in 1914, serving as a grain buyer there for years. He was also a general merchant at Gilroy and Central Butte. He retired to Moose Jaw in 1949 and is a former employee of Maccam Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; a son, Clifford, of Regina; a daughter, Mrs. Adelda Johnston, of Oinewood, Ont.; six grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Alfred Morin and Miss Irene Dark, Winnipeg, and Mrs. Mina Lawrenson, New Westminster, B.C.
Funeral service will be in W. J. Jones and Son Funeral Chapel Friday at 1:30 p.m.
