[Note: HBF says "[his estate] was so involved, at his death, that the administrators had employment for 30 years". The following suggests part of the problem was not the complexity of the estate, but also dissatisfaction with its administration, that caused things to drag on so long.]
30 Nov 1782: Request of heirs that Uriah Brigham be administrator of 'Estate that our Hon'r Father Died Seased of", consented to by Sarah Brigham, signed by John G Brigham, Henry Brigham, Nath'l Gott, David Waite, Alexander Watson
11 Dec 1782: Bond of Uriah Brigham Yeoman of Marlboro to be administrator of the "Estate of Uriah Brigham late of Marlboro aforesaid Gentleman Deceased"
    Note: At least four inventories.
18 Feb 1783 Nath'l Gott and David Waite protest appraisal.
17 Jan 1786 "Jonathan Grout and David Waite heirs and representatives of two tenth parts of said Estate" complained that "there is a great failure of Duty in the present Administrator in not seasonably settling his administration account..." causing an audit. The judge accepted the audit, supporting the administrator.
27 Apr 1786: Appeal to Supreme Court by "Jonathan Grout of Petersham in the County of Worcester Esq'r; Assignee of Nathaniel Gott and Sarah his wife daughter of Uriah Brigham late of Marlborough in the County of Middlesex Yeoman deceased Intestate; and Heirs at Law to this Estate; And David Wait of said Marlborough with Abigail his wife Daughter of said Deceased and Heirs at Law to his Estate", saying one auditor was "near relation", that administrator and John Brigham and Henry Brigham swore to each other's large accounts, did not inventory part of the estate, etc.
28 Oct 1788: Supreme Court reverses decree of Judge of Probate.
