Immigrated w/ his parents in 1850's.
Settled in Boone Co, IL
Enlisted and fought w/ the Il 98th co B, the 47th during the Civil War.
Spent 9 months in Andersonville Prison, released in prisoner trade. Family history is that his brother John was with him at Andersonville, where he died.
After the war, he was in the meat business, but then relocated to Wisconsin with his family. At the same time, his parents also relocated and ended up in Montana. We are unsure what caused the family to leave Illinois.
His first wife, Anna, died and he quickly remarried Mina Storm. They were of the first settlers in Barron co wisconsin, and settled in Maple Grove, where it is related they had the most beautiful home in the county.
Thore served on several county boards, electrical, school, utility, farming. also founded the scandinavian church in prairie lake township.
