Sterling Simison McColgin was born on the 14 day of June, 1901 at Ashkum, Iroquois County, Illinois, and departed this life on the 26 day of October 1963. He was one of 10 children born to Grant and Bessie S. McColgin. He was married to Lee Oma Easterling, July 8, 1922, to which union were born, two daughters, Virginia Lea and Sterling Darlene. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lee, of the home address, Reydon, and his two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lea Moore of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Sterling Darlene Womastek, of Oklahoma City; his mother, Mrs. Grant McColgin of Reydon, Oklahoma, his four sisters, Mrs. Homer K. (Octavia) DeBerry, of Great Bend, Kansas, Mrs. James E. (Ruth) Wall of Garber, Oklahoma, Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Burns, and Mrs. Orville (Hope) Conrad, both of Reydon; and his four brothers, G. Willis of Kansas City, Kansas, Quentin P. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Franklin T. of Setauket, Long Island, New York and Wayne R. of Reydon. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Mrs. Jimmy Mac Marcheselli, Terry Sue, Sterling James and Scott Simison Moore of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Darla Jean Womastek of Oklahoma City also by two great grandchildren, Mark and Tori Lee of Weatherford, and many other relatives. The deceased is also survived by his many friends who knew, respected and loved him. He was a member of the Methodist church. His great capacity for friendship was of rare and enduring quality.
