    At the time of his death he was the senior member of the Board, and the last survivor of the original Trustees nominated in the Charter.
    Born in County Tyrone, Ireland, Jan. 12, 1792;
    a Lieut, in the War of 1812 ;
    a General in the war with Mexico ;
    a Major General in the war of the Rebellion.
    In 1827 he was Commissioner of Internal Improvements in Penna. ;
    a manuf. of cotton ;
    d. Phila., Aug. 7, 1881.
