Robert George MoffatS9 beloved husband of Minnie Jemima Moffat, passed away suddenly on his son’s farm near Killarney, Manitoba July 27, 1970. Mr. Moffat was born in Sidney, Manitoba, February, 20th, 1894. In 1900 he moved with his parents to a farm in the Holmfield district, and in 1916 he joined the Army where he served as a War Veteran in the 100th Overseas Battalion. Following the war he returned to Holmfield and in 1926 was married to Minnie Shepherd. Two years later they moved to the Enterprise District, where they farmed until 1965 when they took up residence in the Town of Killarney. Mr. Moffat was a member of the Presbyterian Church and faithfully served on the Board of Managers. He was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn are: his wife Minnie; three daughters; [names of living individuals have been removed], Manitoba, one son [name of living individual has been removed] of Killarney, five sisters Ruth Stacey, Gertrude Milliken, Mary Cullen and Pearl Armstrong, all of Killarney, and Lily Haight of Cartwright, Manitoba, one brother, Percy of Killarney. Funeral service was held in Erskine Presbyterian Church, July 31st. Rev. Kenneth Plum officiated, assisted by Miss Kinnon. Pallbearers were six nephews: Ed Stacey, Bob Black, Jim Cullen, Ken Moffat, Brian Moffat, and Mervin Moffat. Arrangements were made by the Killarney Funeral Home and interment in the Killarney Cemetery.
