Robert "Bob" Green lived his life at Belle Meade Plantation, arriving as a slave as a young boy and staying on after the Civil War to manage the substantial throughbred operation at Belle Meade. He appears in the one known portrait of leading stud Bonnie Scotland, who spent the last decade of his life on the farm. He appears in press at the time as an expert in horses, including as a guide to President Cleveland when he visited the farm. [edit] EstateBob left $100 and his saddle to his grandson Robert, $100 to his daughter Mackie's youngest two children by her husband, and $100 to his daughters Mary Jane Kiser and Ella Green.
