Richard is believed to have migrated from Wales with his brother Robert. Richard settled at Holly Hill, and Robert , at Shepherd's Hill. Little is known and written about Robert. Richard occupied 125 acres in Abingdon Parish near Rosewell, Gloucester Co., Va. according to "planters of Colonial Virginia" by Wertenberger.
