Ruben Abner Robertson was born ca 1842. He served during the Civil War with the 7th SC Infantry, Co. B. He enlisted 13 Apr 1861 and was discharged 06 Feb 1862 after being wounded in the seven day battle at Richmond, Virginia. He was shot through the jaws. Indications are also that he wasn't discharged until the end of the war but was assigned to light duties. Apparently he served one year with the first enlistment then re-entisted with Co. G of the SC Rifles, the same regiment and company that included his father and his brother. He married T.A. in Harrison County on 18 Dec 1870. She was born 25 Dec 1840 in Houston Co., TX, died 19 Sep 1924 in Edgewood, Van Zandt County. He died 12 Jun 1891. She applied for Widow's Pension #17788 on 01 Oct 1909 while living at Edgewood. She was 69 years old at the time and had lived in Texas all her life.
