Nothing definite. I have one couple, Pierre Etienne Fontaine-Bienvenu and Marie-Anne Bosquet that possibly fled St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, St-Hyacinthe, QC when the British burned down the town in 1837-1838. This is the belief of another researcher that thinks the family fled to Port Huron, MI. Some of them appear in the 1850 and 1860 Port Huron, St. Clair, MI census. The census does give a Mary A. (22 years in 1850), and this would match your birth about 1828. Siblings are Pierre/Peter, Elzear/Edward, Marguerite/Margaret, and François/Frank. Two other siblings do not appear and may have died early (Isaie & Joseph). Some of this information came from a Cindy Zofchak in Aug-2004. The father Pierre, according to her, died Apr-1850. The woman Mary Anne Welcome (probably the mother) died 28-Jun-1874 at the age of 79 in Port Huron, MI according to the MI Genealogy Death Indexing System. The family does show up as Welcome in the MI Census records.
