    Son of William McCullough, Peter was the first white settler to build a home in Dry Grove Township, McLean County, IL. He brought his family to the area in 1826. He and his wife Lavinia had a total of 9 children which includes the John McCullough buried here and Col. William McCullough (memorial # 51903362)

    Peter owned and operated a 'way-side' inn on the State Road (also called the Peoria Road) south/south-east of the general area of where the family cemetery was located.
