Peter F. Jongsma, age 94, of Lynwood, IL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2006. He was born February 11, 1912 to Fred (Rienia) Jongsma. Peter joins his wife, Hilda (nee Teninga) in glory; they were married for 60 years.

Also preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Hamstra and brother, Harry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the First Reformed Church of Lansing, 3134 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL with Rev. Ken Kuiper officiating. Interment in Oakridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL.

Peter was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church of Lansing where he served as Elder, Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was a veteran of WWII. Peter served as school board member and president for 27 years for District #172. He was one of the first trustees for the Village of Lynwood and was the Village's second Mayor from 1974-1977. Peter lived a good Christian life and will be missed by all his family and friends.
