CASTINE - Ormond A. Bowden, 84, died Aug. 9, 2000, at a Blue Hill hospital. Many will remember him as "Old Cap" from his many years working at the landfill. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (Wardwell) Bowden; two daughters, Betty Watson and her husband, Kip of Hancock, Joyce Bennett and her fiance, Don Jewett of Bucksport; two brothers, Leland Bowden and his wife, Brenda of Blue Hill, Eugene Bowden and his wife, Estelle of Bangor; one sister, Therma Douglas of Standish; six grandchildren, Lori Ward and her husband, John of Greenville, Rick Landry and his wife, Stacie of Ellsworth, Wendy Sumner and her husband, Robert of Sullivan, Scott Watson and his wife, Julie of Marlboro, Amie Kane and her husband, Daniel of Surry, Lisa Winters and her husband, Robert of Bucksport; 15 great-grandchildren, Corey, Kari, Travis, Kathie, Alaina, Chelsey, Kaysie, Devin, Shaye, Tabitha, Logan, Whitney, Nicholas, Sara, and Robbie; three great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Bill Macomber, Bob Macomber, Joe Ladd, Denny Colson, Harry Webber, Phil Sawyer, Ruth Dorr; and special sister-in-law, Irene Bowden. He was predeceased by two sons, Brian "Skip" Bowden and Bruce O. Bowden, both of Castine; brother, Kenneth Bowden of Castine; and sister, Kathleen Mixer of Blue Hill. At his request there will be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to the Bagaduce Ambulance Service, Castine, ME 04421.
