19 October 1802 Nicholas ROOF and Barbara his wife of the county fo Hardin and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas STRADER of the same county and state aforesaid of the other part... that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty five pounds to them in hand paid do grant bargaind and sell a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres lying and being in the county of Hardin on Nolinn being a part of five hundred acres conveyed by Philip PHILLIPS to the said ROOF and bounded as follows: Beginning at a large black oak about one half mile above the Big Spring between middle branch of Nolinn being the south west corner of Charles M. THURSTON’s five thousand acre Survey.
