Nicholas Carper, a son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Van Meter) Carper, was born in Botetourt County VA June 15, 1804 and died in Highland County OH May 15, 1869. He married Harriet Elizabeth Neville in Botetourt County September 20, 1825. Harriet was a daughter of John and Mary Neville.
The family moved to Greene County OH in 1832 and to Highland County in 1845.
